Photography Year 1973
The book goes through the year of 1973 and shows different perspectives of the lives of people. This book is very interesting and very beautiful and i love the pictures. They are so elegant and i would tell ANYONE to check this book out and give it look. Knock your self out with the Photography of 1973.
The Great Wide Sea

The Great Wide Sea is about a boy named Ben Byron and his father and two brothers. This story tells about the adventures this family takes out on the open sea after they leave home once the mother of their family passes away. To add to the drama, the father is lost at sea and the brothers must work together to stay alive through a horrendous storm. This book sounds very intense and will enjoy reading it.
Guinness Book of World Records 2007
This book is always a fun read. I love to learn random facts and the pictures are amazing. I am excited to read this book.

This is a book about the life of Coco Chanel. It explains how she came upon fame, had a difficult life, and was able to create a brand known all over the world.
Fury
The book Fury by Koren Zailckas is the memoir following the books Smashed. its about her sober life and the stuggles she has to face. I would read Smashed first and if i liked it then i would read Fury.
Bears: A Year in the Life
This is a beautifully written, well done book on North American bears. The photography is really cool, with over 100 color pictures. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning about bears, their lives, their habits, and behaviors. The book is written by Matthias Breiter.
Boy Meets Boy
Levithan's groundbreaking novel—set in an idealized high school where kids are free to express themselves without repercussions or embarrassment—whisks listeners into a unique teen scene via the work of this cast of young actors. Though Robideau sometimes sounds melodramatic, and the brief characterization of "young Paul" in flashback is grating, these performers eventually gel into an effortless give-and-take rhythm. As Paul explores his feelings for new crush Noah, listeners meet a crew of memorable characters both gay and straight, wild and wallflower that include the football team's drag queen quarterback (played to comic effect by Joey Panek). Suffused with humor and heart, this recording is bound to get listeners thinking about what it means to just be yourself and truly embrace tolerance. In a bonus track, three of the actors and artistic director Daniel Bostick compare their own high school experience to the one in the book.
I'm going to read this book over the break and probably sooner. I think it's interesting to see a world where there is no real separation between the straight and gay community. It sounds like it could be a good book.

Lock and Key

Like most of Sarah Dessen's books, this book has been generally very-well received. Lock and Key deals with a teenage girl named Ruby, who is abandoned by her mother and is forced to live with her wealthy older sister and her brother-in-law. Because I have read many other books by Sarah Dessen I have a feeling that I will not be disappointed in this one.

Faithful by Janet Fox
Historical Fiction:
Set in 1904 Newport, Rhode Island, Faithful is the story of an upper class girl searching for the truth about her mother who disappeared years ago. The quest, by way of her father, takes her all the way to Yellowstone Park. Being there changes her mind about everything, and she is confronted by her own stereotypes along the way. I think i would like this book, but one review i read said it moves really slowly, so maybe not.

How Pleasure Works {The New Science of Why We Like What We Like} (Paul Bloom)
This book is about the psychology of pleasure, why we like things, etc. It talks about love, fantasy worlds, sex, money, eccentric things (like gory accidents or abstract art), real vs. knockoff objects, and many more things. There are many reasons for this, but apparently pleasure is an accident. I can't wait to read it! Annie said it was really good.
The Great Wide Sea
This book is about brothers whose father forces them to leave their home and sail around the Bahamas. One morning the boys wake up to discover that their dad is gone and they're lost halfway between the Bahamas and Bermuda. They're forced to survive the storms at sea on their little sail boat as they attempt to find their father and their way back home. It seems like an action packed thriller. I can't wait to read it over Christmas break!
Tim O' Brien's The Things they Carried is a collection of Vietnam war stories. O'Brien uses both fiction and non-fiction tales to describe some of the awful things he encountered and saw during his time at war. O'Brien writing style is very graphic and specific but he makes readers feel what he felt through his writing style.
Old Yeller!!!!!
Fred Gipson wrote this book. This book seems pretty awesome. I have heard a lot about this story, even the ending :(. Aside from the fact, this cover is really cool looking, I often judge books by their cover. Many say this is one of the most beloved classics in American literature. This book has won countless awards including the Newbery Honor! Library Journal said, "Exciting and heartwarming indeed. Recommended for adults and teenagers." Im pumped for some hot cocoa, sitting around the fire next to my glistening christmas tree, while bundled up in my Brooks Brothers sweater vest on Christmas eve night reading Old Yeller!
The Lady and the Poet by Maeve Haran
The unlikely yet enduring love between Jacobean poet John Donne and Ann More inspires British writer Haran (Having It All) for her first historical novel. More was a teenager when she met Donne, already an established poet and libertine. The Catholic Donne was an undesirable suitor, and Ann, the well-educated daughter of Surrey nobility, was expected to follow her sisters into an arranged marriage. Little is known about More, which allows for flights of imagination woven into the historical record: inopportune encounters across London, secret letters, a dangerous solo moonlit ride on horseback. Donne's poetry appears throughout the narrative, but there is nothing metaphysical about the couple's passion. Ann risks scandal, poverty and her father's wrath to be with Donne. Haran shows the challenges of being a woman at the turn of the 17th century, doing a creditable job of bringing history to life by creating a portrait of the renowned poet and a matching fictional portrait of the woman whom, according to history and literature, he deeply loved.
After reading this article, this book sounds enduring and I cannot wait to get started reading it for the holidays!
It's Kind of a Funny Story

this book is a bout a boy named Craig Gilner who lives in New York and what his life is like. he attends Manhattan's pre professional high school. the pressure gets too intense for him and he decides he wants to commit suicide. he calls the suicidal hotline and he is sent to a mental hospital. he then begins to figure everything out there. i would like to read this book. i saw the movie that was based on it and i really enjoyed it, so i think this would be a good and interesting read.
The Complete Sherlock Holmes
After reading multiple reviews about the book "The Complete Sherlock Holmes", I can easily say that I am looking foreword to reading this collection. It consists of 56 short stories along with four of Sir Author Conan Doyle's classic tales of Sherlock and Watson. I cant wait to read this collaboration of the most famous fictional crime investigator of all time.

I just finished "In Search of Schrödinger's Cat", it was quite a good read. It covers topics such as the history of the atom. Along with other quantum mechanical properties like wave functions and light properties. Unfortunately I would not recommend it, as it can get a little dense and is highly technical.
Little Brother X

I just started reading Scar Tissue, its an autobiography about Tony (Anthony) Kiedis, the lead singer of Red Hot Chili Peppers. It's his life, a story about women, drugs, music, and the hardships of life. His childhood is already fascinating, and I can't seem to put it down (even though I have a million tests to study for). I definitely recommend reading it, and I'm not even a quarter of the way through.

Twelve Angry Men
My Favorite Book: The Secret Garden

The Secret Garden (5 stars) written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, is about a newly orphaned girl, Mary Lennox, going to live in a faraway mansion with her long lost uncle. The mansion is full of secrets, filled with rooms with strange things, unknown people, and of course, a Secret Garden. When Mary discovers the Secret Garden, she starts tending it, which changes her usually sour personality into a more pleasant one. Along the way, Mary makes new friends and changes her life. It was interesting to read about how secretive some people can really be, and what lengths they go to to keep their secrets safe.
Favorite Book
One of my new favorite books is Water For Elephants it's a pretty quick read and has a really different kind of plot about a guy who joins the circus during the Depression and his experiences there. It's told from different points of time though because it flashes back to him in a retirement home present day and him as a guy just out of college who joining the circus.

Golf Is Not A Game of Perfect
Possum Magic! Its magical! (No pun intended?)
This childhood fantasy tale inspired me to wonder about the nature of lamingtons, and their role is australian life. Sadly, while brilliant, I learnt that these cakes couldn't actually turn marsupials invisible. Oh well, the images are brilliant and vibrant and the story line is touching as any fairy-tale story..
The Secret Life of Bees
Book Review
A Piece Of Cake

I love this book! It's VERY intense the whole way through but it is amazing. Cupcake's world is so different from mine, so I liked being able to indirectly experience her hardships through her writing. I also learned a lot about addiction and its effects by reading this, and especially about the illusions addicts sometimes live in.
All We Know of Heaven
I have just finished reading All We know of Heaven by Jacquelyn Mitchard which is based on two teenage girls, Maureen and Bridget, who got into a terrible car accident which sent both of them to the hospital. At the hospital, the girl's identities were confused and when one of the girls dies, friends, family, and doctors believe it was Maureen who died and that Bridget is still in a coma. It isn't until "Bridget" wakes up from her coma that they find out that it is actually Maureen and the real Bridget is the one that passed away. The novel is based on Maureen's recovery and her struggles of being the friend who survived the accident. This novel will take you through an emotional roller coaster of happiness and anger, but it is a great and easy read for many! :)
My All-Time Favorite
What's your all-time favorite book??? From 10 months to 100 years old, what do you think will be the book you will never forget????? (Mine is: Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss. I read it once every couple of years or so)
13 Reasons Why

A book I read this summer was "13 Reason Why". I LOVED IT. It was very suspensful, and I really liked it. This book was about a girl who commits suicide, and before killing herself makes 13 tapes. These 13 tapes say why she decided to kill herself. She sends these 13 tapes to 13 different places/people to let them know how she felt about them, or why she decided to send the tape to them, and why she killed herself. 5 STARS. :)

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows
Napoleon's Wife
CHANGE OF HEART

I am currently reading Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult. This book is amazing!!!!!! I highly recommend it to any and everyone especially those of you who love a good tear jerker or mystery. The mystery is if the main character , Shay Bourne, is really the new messiah or is he just another murderer on death row bargaining for his life. It will keep you guessing. This is NOT a murder mystery book and it is more on the feminine side.
Wintergirls

The book I am currently reading is "Wintergirls" by Laurie Halse Anderson. This book is centered on a teenager who is suffering from anorexia and is coping with the death of her best friend. It is told through the eyes of Lia, the suffering teenage girl, and takes us through her personal thoughts. I am not done with the book, but I do think that this is a really good book. If you have read "Speak" by the same author you will definitely enjoy this book.

Follow the Roar Sam Boyd
The Memory Keeper's Daughter

This book is very dramatic so if you’re someone that doesn’t like drama, I wouldn’t recommend this book. It really is touching and the author does a great job of making you feel like you’re a part of the family’s life.
The Finest hours
This book is about the coast guard and their most daring sea rescue of the coast of cape cod as they attempt to rescue the crews of two tankers in the middle of a snow storm. The coast guard executes daring maneuver after maneuver in an attempt to rescue the seamen before the ships break apart.

The DIary of a Wimpy Kid

This is a funny story over the life of a kid that is just beginning middle school. He describes funny stories in and out of school. The stories range from his ideas to get noticed more in school to to his older brother bothering him at home. This is a good book for any one to reed and weather it be for a class or just for something entertaining to reed.
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
Ender's Game

Ender's Game is about a futuristic Earth that is under attack by an unknown alien race. The military that is in charge of the fight vs. the aliens are looking for an able commander to lead the human fleet against the aliens' home world. They choose a boy named Ender, and send him off to a school in space where he receives all sorts of training about what he will need to save the human race. I really enjoyed this book and would give it a 8 out of 10.
The Truth About Forever

I am reading The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. It is about a girl, Macy, who is spending a dull summer at home. Her boyfriend went to "Brain Camp", and she is left working in the library. She experiences some unexpected events which leads to her coming out of her shell. It is a couple hundred pages long, but is a fairly quick read! I am not far into it, but I am enjoying it!
Unelmien NBA

I read book name Unelmien NBA (Dreams NBA). It tells about NBA basic and players who had been there. Writer is one finnish player brother who's name is Matias Möttölä. I liked the book because I play basketball and NBA is the leading league in the world. I would recommended it basketball players and peoples who are interested about basketball, but I think so that they have only Finnish version :D
The Importance of being Earnest

The Importance of being Earnest by Oscar Wilde is a short and sweet satisfying read. It is about two men, Jack and Algernon, pursuing women, Gwendolen and Cecily, who both think that they are in love with men named Earnest. The story is full of romance and comedy, and it has a wonderful conclusion. I would recommend it to anyone interested in reading plays, or who are just looking for a funny, endearing story.
Eat Pray Love

Cake Wrecks
This book is hilarious so far, I often find myself laughing to my self. I recommend this book to all the visual learners out there who sometimes find it hard to read just plain ole text. Although it lacks a true story line the 200 pages go by as you enjoy every "cake gone wrong".
The Cat in the Hat
this book is about two little kids who are bored in their house all alone. Ten a cat comes over and shows them how to have fun, but just makes a big mess. Then he has to help them clean the house before the kids mom comes home. Great read, but a little long.
Luxe

The book Luxe is about wealthy high-class life in Manhattan during the 19th century. The women and men are expected to marry not out of love, but out of the social status of the other. This book shows a lot of different points of view. It tells the story of many different characters. So far I have enjoyed reading it, and I recommend it to those who love drama and romance.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is a page turner. It is a thriller/mystery with surprising and unexpected turns. It was written by Swedish author, Steig Larsson and is now a best seller. The book is filled with interesting characters like feminist icon, Lisbeth Salander, and detective, Blomkvist. Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down.
The Road of the Dead

this book is about two brothers who travel to find out who killed their sister. through their journey, you see parts of their life stories. the younger brother has a supernatural power in a way. he can feel and see things in other peoples' minds. it is a very interesting storyline. it has a mixture of mystery, battles, supernatural feelings and darkness. there are some times when it gets out of control, but it is a very interesting book to read.
Memoirs of a boy soldier
Memoirs of a Boy soldier is a great book about a young boy trapped in the midst of a war in africa. He becomes a boy soldier and is sucked into the world of war. He must be put through rehabilitation in order to survive, and he eventually gets back to normal. He travels to america to tell his story. This is a heartwarming story!!!
Pretty Little Liars

Who doesn't love a thriller (movie), but a thrilling book is so much better than the movie. Well the Pretty Little Liars Series is a book series about a girl named Ali who grew up in Rosewood Day a neighborhood for the affluent and wealthy, but she sneaks out the house where she and her friends are having a sleepover, and she is never seen again. Her friends are haunted by the thought of what could have happened to her because she was loved by everyone and hated just as much. When her body is found by a pair of construction workers, "A" starts taunting Ali's best friends with their dirty little secrets. Ali is the only person that new each one of their secrets, but if she is dead then who is threatening to expose their dirty little secrets?
Vanishing Acts

Vanishing Acts is a pretty good book, if you've read My Sister's Keeper it's a lot like that. It's written by the same author, Jodi Picoult, and it's written the same way. Each chapter is from a different characters perspective on what the main conflict is. This book is about a girl who's father takes her from her mother because she is an alcoholic and twenty-four years later he is arrested for kidnapping her. It requires the reader to ask ethical questions about the situation and whether or not it was right for him to kidnap her. At the same time all of this is going on you hear the stories of each person that are having problems of their own. Vanishing Acts is a little bit more intense and lengthier so I wouldn't really suggest it for a quick read.
The Notebook

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks (5 stars) - This book is about the unchanging love of Noah Calhoun and Allie Hamilton from the early teenage years, to their lives as withered old people in a nursing home. The Notebook is the actual book that follows their lives and and tells their extraordinary tale of how love never dies. It flashes back to life in the 1950's to the present; therefore providing the reader with an exquisite taste of social hierarchy, war, and of course: love.
