This childhood fantasy tale inspired me to wonder about the nature of lamingtons, and their role is australian life. Sadly, while brilliant, I learnt that these cakes couldn't actually turn marsupials invisible. Oh well, the images are brilliant and vibrant and the story line is touching as any fairy-tale story..

ReplyDeleteMem Fox is a favorite author of mine. Did you know that she wrote Possum Magic because she felt like there wasn't enough literature that represented Australian culture for her young daughter? Have you read Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge? It is my favorite Mem Fox book written about a little boy's friendship with a woman who has lost her memories. It is a sweet story that makes me cry!
