I just started reading The Secret Life of Bees. The movie was really good and has now inspired me to read the book. Has anyone read it? I am interested to see the differences in the book and movie, and to see which one I like more.
I've read it! I enjoyed the book. It's definatly an intersting story. I've never seen the movie, but want to. I'm intersted in seeing the differences between the book and movie too!
I enjoyed the book, so I did not see the movie. I always feel like the movie robs me of my feelings about and my images of the book and replaces them with the director's. One image that I will always carry with me from this book is when the main character's father punishes her by making her kneel on grits. Even worse to me, however, was that he forbade her to read while she sat completely bored in the stand. That would be true torture for me! Mrs. Cannon

ReplyDeleteI'm sad to say that I liked the movie better than the book. The book seemed to drag at times, and I enjoyed the shorter version the movie provided.
ReplyDeleteI have not read the book or seen the movie but I am now compelled to only watch the movie!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh I really liked this book and I saw the movie.
