Photography Year 1973
The book goes through the year of 1973 and shows different perspectives of the lives of people. This book is very interesting and very beautiful and i love the pictures. They are so elegant and i would tell ANYONE to check this book out and give it look. Knock your self out with the Photography of 1973.
The Great Wide Sea

The Great Wide Sea is about a boy named Ben Byron and his father and two brothers. This story tells about the adventures this family takes out on the open sea after they leave home once the mother of their family passes away. To add to the drama, the father is lost at sea and the brothers must work together to stay alive through a horrendous storm. This book sounds very intense and will enjoy reading it.
Guinness Book of World Records 2007
This book is always a fun read. I love to learn random facts and the pictures are amazing. I am excited to read this book.
Chanel
This is a book about the life of Coco Chanel. It explains how she came upon fame, had a difficult life, and was able to create a brand known all over the world.
Fury
The book Fury by Koren Zailckas is the memoir following the books Smashed. its about her sober life and the stuggles she has to face. I would read Smashed first and if i liked it then i would read Fury.
Bears: A Year in the Life
This is a beautifully written, well done book on North American bears. The photography is really cool, with over 100 color pictures. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning about bears, their lives, their habits, and behaviors. The book is written by Matthias Breiter.
Boy Meets Boy
Levithan's groundbreaking novel—set in an idealized high school where kids are free to express themselves without repercussions or embarrassment—whisks listeners into a unique teen scene via the work of this cast of young actors. Though Robideau sometimes sounds melodramatic, and the brief characterization of "young Paul" in flashback is grating, these performers eventually gel into an effortless give-and-take rhythm. As Paul explores his feelings for new crush Noah, listeners meet a crew of memorable characters both gay and straight, wild and wallflower that include the football team's drag queen quarterback (played to comic effect by Joey Panek). Suffused with humor and heart, this recording is bound to get listeners thinking about what it means to just be yourself and truly embrace tolerance. In a bonus track, three of the actors and artistic director Daniel Bostick compare their own high school experience to the one in the book.
I'm going to read this book over the break and probably sooner. I think it's interesting to see a world where there is no real separation between the straight and gay community. It sounds like it could be a good book.

Lock and Key

Like most of Sarah Dessen's books, this book has been generally very-well received. Because I have read many other books by Sarah Dessen I have a feeling that I will not be disappointed in this one.

Faithful by Janet Fox
Historical Fiction:
Set in 1904 Newport, Rhode Island, Faithful is the story of an upper class girl searching for the truth about her mother who disappeared years ago. The quest, by way of her father, takes her all the way to Yellowstone Park. Being there changes her mind about everything, and she is confronted by her own stereotypes along the way. I think i would like this book, but one review i read said it moves really slowly, so maybe not.

How Pleasure Works {The New Science of Why We Like What We Like} (Paul Bloom)
This book is about the psychology of pleasure, why we like things, etc. It talks about love, fantasy worlds, sex, money, eccentric things (like gory accidents or abstract art), real vs. knockoff objects, and many more things. There are many reasons for this, but apparently pleasure is an accident. I can't wait to read it! Annie said it was really good.
The Great Wide Sea
This book is about brothers whose father forces them to leave their home and sail around the Bahamas. One morning the boys wake up to discover that their dad is gone and they're lost halfway between the Bahamas and Bermuda. They're forced to survive the storms at sea on their little sail boat as they attempt to find their father and their way back home. It seems like an action packed thriller. I can't wait to read it over Christmas break!
Tim O' Brien's The Things they Carried is a collection of Vietnam war stories. O'Brien uses both fiction and non-fiction tales to describe some of the awful things he encountered and saw during his time at war. O'Brien writing style is very graphic and specific but he makes readers feel what he felt through his writing style.
Old Yeller!!!!!
Fred Gipson wrote this book. This book seems pretty awesome. I have heard a lot about this story, even the ending :(. Aside from the fact, this cover is really cool looking, I often judge books by their cover. Many say this is one of the most beloved classics in American literature. This book has won countless awards including the Newbery Honor! Library Journal said, "Exciting and heartwarming indeed. Recommended for adults and teenagers." Im pumped for some hot cocoa, sitting around the fire next to my glistening christmas tree, while bundled up in my Brooks Brothers sweater vest on Christmas eve night reading Old Yeller!
The Lady and the Poet by Maeve Haran
The unlikely yet enduring love between Jacobean poet John Donne and Ann More inspires British writer Haran (Having It All) for her first historical novel. More was a teenager when she met Donne, already an established poet and libertine. The Catholic Donne was an undesirable suitor, and Ann, the well-educated daughter of Surrey nobility, was expected to follow her sisters into an arranged marriage. Little is known about More, which allows for flights of imagination woven into the historical record: inopportune encounters across London, secret letters, a dangerous solo moonlit ride on horseback. Donne's poetry appears throughout the narrative, but there is nothing metaphysical about the couple's passion. Ann risks scandal, poverty and her father's wrath to be with Donne. Haran shows the challenges of being a woman at the turn of the 17th century, doing a creditable job of bringing history to life by creating a portrait of the renowned poet and a matching fictional portrait of the woman whom, according to history and literature, he deeply loved.
After reading this article, this book sounds enduring and I cannot wait to get started reading it for the holidays!
It's Kind of a Funny Story

this book is a bout a boy named Craig Gilner who lives in New York and what his life is like. he attends Manhattan's pre professional high school. the pressure gets too intense for him and he decides he wants to commit suicide. he calls the suicidal hotline and he is sent to a mental hospital. he then begins to figure everything out there. i would like to read this book. i saw the movie that was based on it and i really enjoyed it, so i think this would be a good and interesting read.
The Complete Sherlock Holmes
After reading multiple reviews about the book "The Complete Sherlock Holmes", I can easily say that I am looking foreword to reading this collection. It consists of 56 short stories along with four of Sir Author Conan Doyle's classic tales of Sherlock and Watson. I cant wait to read this collaboration of the most famous fictional crime investigator of all time.
